seriously, dude said about first-ballot nominee Matt Williams; “Nobody ever played the game with more intensity, nor with more reverence for the sport.” — Really? Matt Williams? i liked Williams, he was a good player, but i can argue that Rickey played with just as much intensity if not more..

Simpson doesn’t say why he didn’t vote for Rickey..

he said he couldn’t vote for Mark McGwire because of the steroid suspicions, however, i seem to recall Matt Williams was also named in the Mitchell Report as a steroid and HGH user.. i’ve never been one to care about who is using roids and who isn’t, i’ve never been a Barry Bonds hater, and i certainly have nothing against Matt Williams, but no way in hell does he deserve a HOF vote over Rickey..Â

oh well, no biggie i guess, Rickey will still be in the hall of fame..
